Ibuprofen was developed in the 1960's by the Boots Chemical Company, and it is marketed under a number of different names. Ibuprofen is considered a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. However, the drug brings many different risks. In fact, extended or excessive use can carry risks to the heart. An overdose of ibuprofen can result in severe gastrointestinal distress, characterized by nausea and vomiting. Also, it may cause dizziness, headaches, nosebleeds, and rashes. Thus, Ibuprofen has both its pros and cons. However, it should not be used for long periods of time.
